UWT Blog On The Relief Efforts In Somalia 2012

Alhamdulillah, ever since Ummah Welfare Trust launched its Horn of Africa emergency drought appeal back in June 2011, never have UWT donors or its team showed any signs of tiredness in responding to the call of our needy brothers and sisters.

We are here on the ground in Somalia continuing our response in the blessed lands of Habasha. Join us again, whist we join our team distributing much needed aid to those who need it most.

UWT Distributes Kitchen Utensil Sets To Needy Families in Mogadishu

Alhamdulillah today we distributed 45-piece kitchen utensil sets to excited families in Mogadishu, Somalia. This aid distribution was donated by 45 inspirational brothers from across the UK who got together last year and decided to respond to the cries of the needy Ummah suffering from the drought in Somalia. With Brother Eman Ali from Manchester as the group's leader and leading by example himself, they decided to take on the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco on a gruelling 4-day sponsored charity bike trek covering more than 200kms.

Even more amazing was the fact that their very successful fundraising campaign raised more than £110,000 for various charity projects across the globe! A large portion of their donations were allocated for the victims of the Horn of Africa Drought. Here Ummah Welfare Trust is distributing on their behalf these great 45-piece kitchen utensil sets to displaced families from across Mogadishu in Somalia.
